Sementa is officially mine!

Well! Finally my Austrian Warmblood mare, Sementa II, is safe in her stall in the barn at Dolony. I can hardly believe it! I picked her up on Saturday at a horse show at the very cool Ippica Club in Bratislava. It was pretty funny as I had all that cash in a discreet little envelope and I met with the breeder in her car to exchange papers for $.....the breeders, Monica and Walter, are two very nice people and expert breeders with the cutest breeding farm in Hungary just over the Slovak border.  Anyway, Monica's car was set up as a mobile show office with thread and needles, extra gear, papers, old ribbons etc cluttering the interior....I felt right at home lol!!
That's me in the middle with Monica and Walter...such a proud mama! haha!

Well, Semi hung out in a friend's trailer til after the show and was calm and sweet as could be....
I will be back at the barn on Tuesday...can't wait to ride her!!!

Mareish

well, def learned the meaning of that term today : )  Was riding Bollia at the barn in Bukovec today and little miss just DID NOT want to go. She was weaving around the ring like a drunk trying to prove how sober he is, veering dangerously while at the canter, etc. It was pretty amusing however and, as they say, no harm no foul.

Tack, bitless bridles?

I am very interested in bitless bridles; I am ordering a Dr. Cook's Bitless Bridle very soon. They have a 30 day money back guarantee, so I can send it back if Sementa doesn't go well in it. Over at Equine Ink there is a lot of info regarding diff types of bitless bridles; she found that her horse went well in a Micklem Multibridle.  If the Dr. Cooks doesn't work out, that will be the next one I try. here is a link to that post: http://equineink.com/2008/09/30/dr-cooks-bitless-bridle-will-a-cross-under-design-work-for-your-horse/

first post and first blog!

Hiya, finally starting my own horse blog....this has become necessary as my friends and family can no longer tolerate my incessant horse babble. I am just about to buy a new horse and so def need a place to ramble on about her many, shining qualities! She is an Austrian Warmblood named Sementa and she is GORGEOUS!! Look at her arabian head and ears!!! on such a huge warmblood body! She is prob also too much horse for me but, well, whatever, I'll just start saving for hospital bills I guess : )
The first pic is Monica, Sementa's breeder, at her barn in Hungary. The 2nd pic shows the amazing Lucie Kalova, FEI 4 star eventing veternarian, who cleared Semi for takeoff
